When it comes to wedding photography, I am not a fan of leaving anything to chance. This month, we are going to dissect a recent shot of mine. This is by no means meant as a definitive guide, but I believe it will give you some insight into how I work from vision to final creation.
Creating great images requires more than just luck. The equipment we use and the techniques we apply all make a difference in your final results.
In this video, Sal is on-location in Iceland with Miss Iceland. In this scene, he was looking for one thing: a gorgeous headshot with a custom made wreath. For gear, he used a Profoto B1 and OCF Portable Beauty Dish. A super simple set up with stunning results.
Recently I had the honor of working with and photographing the beautiful Bella. I met Bella and her family at ShutterFest 2017. She was one of the models for the event. At the time, I didn’t have a chance to work with her one on one, but I knew I wanted to spend some time and try some new concepts with her.
Drone photography is here to stay. If you see drones as merely for playtime, you are missing out. But with this bold new frontier comes unique challenges. There are all sorts of rules and regulations we are going to have to learn about and adhere to, and they seem to change daily.

This month’s shoot was, in a word, fun. I love having a creative group of people around me. This time, we had an internal debate about the direction and concepts for the cover shoot.
